We just got home from a family vacation to California. Among other fun things we went to the West Coast production sale in Red Bluff California. We went to observe and to meet other people that have the same love for Dorper Sheep that we do. We accomplished our goal! Here are just a couple pics from the show  Morning meeting  This was really cool! A small ultrasound machine! Now I want one :)  Let the auction begin! Add Comment Well, we are all caught up for now ;) for those of you who have farms, your know there is always something to do. I finally finished weeding the garden, so here is a quick update!   First pea has started to grow!  Cucumbers are doing well  Tomatoes are all flowering  Green beans are finally climbing the fence  Potatoes are flowering  Little clusters of grapes are forming.  Turbo watched over me as I weeded the garden this afternoon  All 6 of our sheep are all healthy and happy :) spoiled little critters.  We also harvested our first zucchini the other day! It tasted amazing :)  After waiting 3 years we are finally getting berries off of our thimble berry plant. We call them red caps!  The peas are stating to get some hight to them!  Flowers on the peas :)  A tiny little head of broccoli is forming.  Kale and beets are doing great  3 kinds of corn. They are all doing great!  First zucchini of the year!  Cucumbers are flowering  Green beans!  Potatoes are doing wonderful.  Tomatoes are slowly growing.  Flowers on my Roma tomato. :)  I saved the best for last, my favorite flowers! Sunflowers! I can't wait for them to bloom! From all of us at The Sumerlin Dorper Farm, we wish you a happy and safe 4th of July!   Over winter I gained a new hobby! A good friend of mine taught me how to Knit. Since we have long wet winters, I had lots of time to do plenty of projects. Here are picture of what I have done so far.
 4th project- A riding scarf for Larry. Matches his riding jacket perfect! :)
 A beanie hat and a "papa smurf" hat as we call it. I made it for a friends son.
