Yesterday was bitter sweet. It was time to harvest my sunflower heads. I love sunflowers so it was hard for me to take them down, but I know that this wonderful weather won't last much longer and if I wait to long the head will start to rot, so I did it :)

Seeds were nice sized

My next project is harvesting and chipping the corn for the sheep. :)

Today was a very busy day. Besides cleaning and laundry :/ this is what I got accomplished

I started my day off snapping green beans and getting them ready to be blanched and frozen.

Processed the rest of the carrots!

And finished a pair of mittens! All before 3. I think I will take the rest of the day off. Well until it is time to make dinner.

Today, Moe went to a new family! We loved our Big Daddy Moe and look forward to meeting his 2nd set of off-spring in a couple weeks. He was a great Ram.

Other things going on around the farm. Last weekend I harvest approx 128 ears of corn :) I was very excited when I looked at the first ear and saw corn!
Picture
The corn was the "earlive" variety. It got 4' tall and gave 3/4 size ears, perfect size we think. It isn't super sweet but taste good

Harley and Pushy checking out the corn husks. Not quite sure what to think about them at first. We also chipped the stocks and have them in a bucket making silage out of it. No waste :)

I dug up some potatoes to go with the corn for dinner. The skin was very thin, but boy, these were the best potatoes I have had in a very long time!

And of course, what is summer without Zucchini bread? This is Blueberry Zucchini bread :)
