After a long day of working on the new lamb nursery, I went out to feed the sheep and check on Ms. Sweet Pea. Much to my surprise she looked like she was ready to pop. I went and got Larry and we both decided to make sure the first pin was 100% ready for them. After stocking the pin with water, hay and grain we were ready. We both thought we would have lambs probably coming in the morning, so we went had some dinner, I took as shower, and went back over to see how she was doing. Much to our surprise she was in full labor. We took a seat in the pin and waited for the package. At about 8:36 P.M Sweet Pea delivered a very healthy little ewe. We are still surprised that she had a single, but we are very happy she is big and healthy :) Here are some pictures of the event.
With Sweet Pea's due date approaching very quickly (9 days to be exact) I have thinking alot about a first batch of lambs.
I can not wait to see what little packages our girls are going to give us this time around!!
Today, Moe went to a new family! We loved our Big Daddy Moe and look forward to meeting his 2nd set of off-spring in a couple weeks. He was a great Ram.
Other things going on around the farm. Last weekend I harvest approx 128 ears of corn :) I was very excited when I looked at the first ear and saw corn!
